Senior Mobile UX Designer

The eyetime app was launched in 2018 with the idea to incorporate messaging and social media activities into one platform. Fast forward to today and we are currently working on starting from the beginning with a user-centric and industry led focus.

Principle technologies include Flutter, iOS and Android, Python, AWS and GCP.


Job purpose:

Reporting to the Head of Engineering, the Senior Mobile UX Designer will work closely with the Product, Engineering and Marketing teams. The primary objective is to design the experiences and interfaces for eyetime and related interfaces across our platforms such as iOS, Android, Windows, and mobile web.
We expect you to have an evolved understanding of how people use their devices, the flexibility to adapt to new technologies, and a robust toolkit.


Key responsibilities:

The responsibilities of a member of staff at eyetime may change over time according to the developing needs of both the job function and of the individual. In general, a Senior Mobile UX Designer can expect to undertake the following:

Delivery of visuals You will develop intuitive, usable, and engaging interactions and visual designs for mobile, desktop, and web. You will act as a consultant to Marketing, enhancing website UX (for mobile and desktop).
Ongoing revision of work based on product and business needs You will be a creative thinker, flexible and adaptable to the changing requirements of an evolving product suite.
Problem solving You will be able to break any design problem down into viable actionable chunks and solve them with clarity and precision.
Implementing best practice Keep abreast of improving approaches to UX design. This may include recommending, or adopting, different tools and platforms. You’ll stay abreast of UX trends and look for creative ideas and inspiration in parallel, analogous worlds.
Providing a pragmatic view of expectations You know the difference between delivering a design, and over-solving/over-engineering one. You understand the need to be commercially pragmatic and deliver only what needs to be delivered.
Collaborate with the wider teams You will be a participant in the end-to-end UX and app development process from definition, through design, build, test, release, and maintenance
Commitment As part of our agile process you will contribute to a commitment ethos within the business, playing your part in ensuring that when we say we’ll deliver, we really do deliver.
Participating in daily stand-ups You will attend, and contribute value to, daily team stand-ups.
Support agile best practice Support the continuous improvement of approaches to agile software development such as Kanban, Scrum, and automation.
